Bronzeville leaders and educators are creating and improving green neighborhood spaces where children of all ages can learn about nature.
As part of the Bronzeville Toolkit project, high school summer interns learned the ins and outs of organic vegetable gardening and healthy cooking at the Bronzeville Community Garden.
At two day cares run by Centers for New Horizons, Tsadakeeyah Ben Emmanuel helped to create unstructured, nature-based play experiences for toddlers using native plants and repurposed materials.
And at Eden Place Nature Center, children learn about environmental stewardship through hands-on experiences with gardens, farm animals, wildlife, and green technology.
